For those of you local, Go Go Yoga for Kids will be hosting a free Kids Yoga Class. You are invited to join us. Please let us know if you are interested and we will give you the information.
If you can’t join us, please utilize these standing and sitting 5 minute yoga routines for kids and adults! These wonderful routines introduce yoga pose, mindfulness and only take minutes. They are adapted from Kids Yoga Day founder, Teresa Power, and her book, ABCs Yoga for Kids.
Life is an adventure! It is full of unexpected twists, turns and ups and downs. This can sometimes cause uncertainty and unease which kids can easily pick up on in their day to day lives. Help kids manage their emotions, keep a positive attitude and connect with themselves and others with the use of positive affirmations, mantras and yoga.
Go Go Yoga for Kids and Zendoway have partnered together to give parents, teachers and other caregivers the tools and lesson plans to keep kids positive.
The Kids Yoga Challenge Pose Cards will introduce children and families to yoga poses that will increase balance, flexibility, mindfulness, and more.
This yoga card deck includes 30 sturdy 4×6yoga cards including partner poses, confidence building mantras, and fun yoga games to play together using these cards.
I love visiting schools and enjoy talking to the students about being an author and introducing them to yoga. Recently I spent a wonderful morning at the Paton-Churdan Elementary and Junior High Schools speaking to the students about writing and publishing books.
We also learned some fun yoga poses and practiced them with games. A favorite game was the Mannequin Challenge. At the time this challenge had taken over the internet and the students were so excited to be a part of this sensation.
You can view our entertaining Mannequin Challenge below. The kids were very excited about this and I was amazed at their determination and focus to stay as still as they can. Being still isn’t easy when you are packed in tightly next to your classmates, but when you include some balance poses as well, it is even more challenging! The junior high kids are first in the video, followed by the preschool and elementary.
The school kids definitely rocked this yoga mannequin challenge! The preschool and elementary tried their best. It’s hard to be still! No matter what, everyone had fun!
